CAN YOU CHANGE YOUR OIL WITHOUT CHANGING THE FILTER?

Yes you’re able to change the oil without actually changing the oil filter in your car but we wouldn’t recommend it because small metal particles could pass your old filter into the moving mechanical parts that the oil has to circulate.

DO YOU FILL CAR OIL FILTER BEFORE PLACING IT?

We recommend if you can put oil in the filter without making a mess then yes but it is not necessary and can be done either way.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET YOUR CAR’S OIL CHANGED?

Not to long, just around 15 to 45 minutes depending on the vehicle that is having the oil change.

CAN I DRAIN MY ENGINE OIL BY SIMPLY REMOVING THE FILTER?

No, removing the oil filter only removes the oil currently contained in the filter which is about 0.4 liters. You’ll need to locate the oil pan and empty it from that location.

CAN YOU CLEAN AN OIL FILTER AND REUSE IT?

Yes this should only be done if the oil filter is passed through fluid management analysis or filter usage analysis. We would recommend just getting a new filter.

WHY IS MY CAR LEAKING OIL AFTER AN OIL CHANGE?

If it’s only a small amount of oil dripping from the bottom of your vehicle then you should not be concerned because it’s just residual oil that wasn’t cleaned off.

WHY DID MY ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AFTER AN OIL CHANGE?

An oil change that was done correctly would not present this issue and could be other underlying issues. It’s recommended to bring the vehicle back for further diagnostics.

WHAT DOES CHANGING YOUR ENGINE OIL DO FOR YOUR CAR?

Regular oil changes improve your vehicle’s driving ability like increase gas mileage, prevent engine wear down and breaking parts.

WHY SHOULD I CHANGE THE OIL EVEN IF I DON’T DRIVE MUCH?

The additives in the oil will begin to wear down over time and eventually become sulfuric acid which will eat away at the metal bearings of your engine. It’s recommended at minimum to get your oil changes every 12 months if you don’t drive as much.

HOW MANY MILES CAN I REALLY GO WITHOUT AN OIL CHANGE?

This is depended on the type of oil you use within your vehicle. In the case of modern day motor oil, the standard is at least every 5,000 miles but synthetic oil is guaranteed to offer good engine protection up to 7,500 miles.
